NMID Advanced Placement Credit

The Bachelors in NMID regularly accepts students that bring with them advanced placement or "AP" credit, in several different areas.

Please note, however, that we generally do not award AP credit for computer science within the NMID program. This is for two reasons: First, the NMID program uses a programming sequence that from the very first day provides experiences in programming interactive media using Flash/Flex Actionscript and rich media assets. As such, it is unlikely that the traditional AP CS exam will be directly relevant on this experience at the introductory level. Second, the core programming sequence in the NMID program is taken by both developers and designers, and as such is the first "meeting ground" between these differing population. We don't want students to miss out on this opportunity!

Students coming in with appropriate scores that would normally qualify for AP credit in CS may be awarded free elective credit to reduce the total credits towards their degree.
